This costume (designed by Yan Tax) was only used in the Stage Entertainment productions, namely Scheveningen, Essen and Stuttgart. Right before and during the chorus of the Prolog, Elisabeth appears in a frame as if in a painting wearing the simple white satin gown used again in the Ankleidezimmer scene and ‘Der Schleier fällt’. The costume itself is not boned or constructed like the other costumes; in fact, the shape and ruffles are maintained only by the cutting of the gown. The wig used is waist-length and consists of a pinned ‘crown’ and loosely curled ringlets. Due to the limited appearances of this costume, there are few photos.
