Character:  Elisabeth

Description: Elisabeth is solely based on the real personality of Empress Elisabeth of Austria, one of the beauties of the late 19th century. Married in young age to emperor Franz Joseph of Austria, she struggled with her position at the Vienesse court, with abandonment, loss of her children and unhappy marriage. She found herself with a strange relationship with mystical character of Der Tod (Death).
